It has been awesome getting back to the high school and junior high scene – lots of energy and excitement. It was great working with Jericho Falls Ministry again and having them lead worship. They know how to get the house rocking.
When we drove in to the church, there was a line that went out the door. They estimated that close to 1,200 students showed up. I don’t think the church had the capacity to hold everyone in the sanctuary. They made an overflow room in an adjacent fellowship hall.
It is sometimes hard to make the adjustment from speaking to college students, single adults, and married couple then all of sudden to high school students. But I think the illustration in the beginning from the High School Musical helped me to connect.
I talked about how God’s responds to faith especially when we are desperate. We were able to respond to the Holy Spirit during the prayer time by ministering to those were raised their hands to indicate that they were in desperate times. It was encouraging to see students ministering to one another.
We have a prayer session this late afternoon and the last evening worship session tonight.
I decided to join the students and be in the thick of things
