LIBERTY Mission Update #5 – 3.2013

God always has a way of taking something that is familiar and giving it a fresh perspective. The Cambodian church that we visited on Sunday was singing the song, “I Can Sing of Your Love Forever.” I think I sang that song hundreds of times, but for some reason, when I heard it sung in Khmei and the people who have been rescued from sex slavery started to sing, it wrecked me.

It was at that moment, I realized (again) how a song is powerful not only because of the words and the music, but because of what it means to the person who is singing it. This is why worship is always a good indication of what is going on in a person’s heart.

Over the mountains and the sea
Your river runs with love for me
And I will open up my heart
And let the Healer set me free
I’m happy to be in the truth
And I will daily lift my hands
For I will always sing of
Of when Your love came down

I could sing of Your love forever
I could sing of Your love forever
I could sing of Your love forever
I could sing of Your love forever

Oh I feel like dancing
It’s foolishness I know
But when the world has seen the light
They will dance with joy
Like they’re dancing now
