I just got an e-mail from a member of our staff indicating that someone from China accepted Christ during last week’s Sunday Celebration. It is encouraging to know that as we talked about the power of worship and how it can allow people to encounter the living and true God that it became a reality. Yay God!
Let’s not forget that there was probably a person or a group of people that invested in the relationship first. Then the Sunday Celebration was the thing that helped everything come together for the person. Once again, it is important to remember that the key is partnership. As we invest and then invite, our friends, co-workers and family members will be able to experience the power of God in corporate worship.
In the words of John Piper, “Missions exists because worship doesn’t.” Maybe one avenue for the Church to do missions is by creating a transformative worshipping environment where God’s Presence can be experienced.
“Many peoples will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.’ The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem” (Isaiah 2:3).
