NDOP 2007

Today is the National Day of Prayer (NDOP). Even though our nation has been coming together to pray throughout its rich history, it wasn’t until 1988 when President Ronald Regan signed a bill into law that stated the National Day of Prayer be held on the first Thursday of May.

I was not exposed to the NDOP growing up as a Christian. A lot of it dealt with the fact that it was an inward-focused Christianity, but over the years especially since the start of HMCC, I realized the importance and the necessity of praying for our nation.

As we are even trying to raise up people who will engage the culture for transformation, we need to actively participate in praying for the concerns of this nation. This is in line with the CHARGED acronym that we have been espousing here at HMCC.

Hope to see you tonight at our NDOP gathering.
