There is nothing more encouraging for a pastor than to see their members apply God’s Word into their lives. Tonight, I ended up meeting up with a member who just wanted to get to know me more… translation = who are you behind the pulpit 🙂
It was awesome when the person expressed that they wanted to buy me a drink (at Starbucks). At first I declined, but seeing this as an opportunity for them to be blessed, I accepted. It was hard resisting a college student insistent on buying their pastor some coffee.
But when the person shared about how this past Sunday’s message “Worshiping (with) Your Money” really spoke to them then it hit me. I realized that in some way this person was trying to apply God’s Word about learning how to give.
For some reason this grande vanilla non-fat latte never tasted so good! It was one of those “Yay God!” moments.
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (Jas 1:22)
