As many of you know, I have been trying to develop the whole Kingdom of God theology and how it ties in with the concept of transformation. This has been my passion ever since I became a Christian. How are we, as Christians suppose to live out the command found in Mt 5:13-16 to be the salt and light in the world?
I came up with the CHARGE acronym and stated that there are 6 pillars of society that we need to engage in if we are to see transformation in a society. They are: Commerce, Household, Arts and Media, Religious Institutions, Government and Politics and Education.
But the more I think about it, I think there might be one more major pillar. It is the health profession and the health field.
Recently, one of our church members has been able to make a difference in the health profession world. His research was done here at the University of Michigan where they were able to use MRIs to detect cancer by looking at the bone. I don’t know all the official medical terms, but since cancer in the breast and prostate have high meta-static potential, the propensity of these cancer cells to grow within the bones is great. Hence, the MRI will help detect the cancer better than the radioactive bone scan which people are currently using.
Their study made some links that in mice the MRI may hold the key to providing doctors more information about how and when to treat patients with breast or prostate cancer. They are just weeks away from receiving the final approval for doing a clinical trial. Hopefully, they will have their first patients signing up to get the MRI scans done.
Here are some links to the research:
With all this being said, I think it might be better if I change the acronym to CHARGED – Commerce, Health Field, Arts and Media, Religious Institutions, Government and Politics, Education and Domestic Issues.
We need to keep on raising up people who have the Kingdom of God theology in their Christian framework and also people who are passionate about transformation.
I can’t wait for the time when our members will be place in various places of influence – and they will be prepared to transform the world for God’s glory.
