We have started our new 6 part series called, “Wise Living.” It is amazing that there are incredible examples in the Bible of people who have lived foolishly and people who have lived wisely in the ways of the Lord. Depending how a person chose, their destinies were cemented.
We are constantly given choices to make. What we end up choosing sometimes determines where we will end up.
In the Bible we notice Moses challenging the Israelite people. He said, “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” (Dt 30:19-20).
Even, Joshua challenges the Israelite people, “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD” (Jos 24:15).
As we study the book of Proverbs, we want to learn how to choose to live the life of wisdom. This is the way of blessings.
