April 2008 HMCC Highlights for Alumni

Even after this trip out S.E. Asia, I was reminded about the importance of being connected to the network of relationships that God sovereignly brought together. In every single stop that we have made (from Singapore, Hong Kong to Jakarta) it was great reconnecting with people who shared a common experience – transformation at HMCC!

We know that every year, as more people graduate and get placed in various parts of the world, there will be a greater network of relationships and friendships. It is always encouraging to hear what God is doing in various parts of the world.

Every month we try to publish “HMCC Highlights” so that people, who are physically gone from Ann Arbor but still want to be connected with what is going on here will be able to do so through this medium. We give updates, praise and highlights on the months “happenings.” We, also try to highlight one alumnus a month.

If you are not on the e-mail list then please contact us. We would love for some of you to give an update on your life (i.e. marriage, work, transformation testimonies, etc).

Here is the most recent update with the Easter 2008 weekend and our alumni spotlight… click here.

Back from Jakarta

It is good to be back. I can’t wait until the airlines start using some of the bigger planes so that we can have more direct flights around the world. In the midst of trying to save some money our flight from Jakarta-Singapore-Hong Kong-Chicago-Detroit nearly killed us physically (I don’t know if I want to do that again). It was good to get some good rest in my own bed!

I wanted to thank those of you who prayed for us. It was a great trip and your prayers really sustained us in our schedule packed trip. As I was reflecting on the plane ride back, I couldn’t help but to feel blessed and thankful. Everything that we have been talking about, dreaming about, and even envisioning about was all coming together.

I really sensed that throughout our 11+ year history, God was giving us little pieces of the puzzle. As we remained faithful to one of the pieces, He gave us another piece. Then as we were faithful to that piece, God gave another one. After all these years, the puzzle is slowly taking shape. The borders that make the framework of the puzzle is coming together and pieces that make up a big chunk of the picture is coming together. Wow! It is hard to explain but I am hoping that many of you will be able to participate and experience it for yourself.

Last night as I walked through the doors of my home, I was greeted by a warm welcome from my family – nothing beats it hug from people you love the most. Now, it is back to the rhythm of life, as I am sitting here at the office just coming back from driving the kids from school.
